I have known Pooja for five years. Recently, we met at a common friend’s baby shower when Pooja started talking about her son, Ahaan. Ahaan was turning one, soon, and she wanted to book a photo session around his first birthday, with the whole family. Later, we decided on the date and time so that Pooja’s sister and her husband, who live abroad, could be a part of the session too, along with the grandparents and even their dog, Frisky. It was to be a complete family affair.
The day of the shoot started with a photo session on Juhu beach, which was then followed by a session at home.

Ahaan is a very energetic and smart kid. The beach session was easy with family photos and poses. At home, when we started staging the space for Ahaan’s portraits and individual shoot, he started getting uninterested. We then went with Plan B and clicked pictures of Ahaan going about his regular routine. Instead of making him pose in front of a screen, we captured his happy moments, very candidly. All we had to do was play with him and talk to him, to get all of his cuteness on camera.
Ahaan is obsessed with cars, just like his father and grandfather. While the latter two have antique show pieces of cars and boats all over the house, Ahaan has a little BMW that he adores! I love these tiny glimpses into a child’s growing personality.

It was a pleasure working with Pooja, Amey and Ahaan. It was a fulfilling session because I witnessed all the love that was showered on their one year old, not just by the parents but also by each family member.
